hi there!

well if you have any grand children. be shure to tell them about some war stories.

my own grand father made the war in corea. ( as a canadian soldier ) and last christmass me and my cousins sat down and listened to him while he told us about his time in the army.

it was the first time he told us about that. and my mom even said he never told his own children, this was the first time he opened up. but me and my cousins found his stories fascinating.

and so we listened eagerly while he told us all how harsh the conditions were back then.

we got the impression that he was a real survivor to have gotten out of that war without serious injury.

i saw that there was a war veteran section here in the forum. and i am very interested in war stories. particulary those concerning world war 2.

i know that australian soldiers fought alot in that war.

if you don't mind please tell us about that time. and don't worry about language, im shure someone will translate it all in french.

good day to you fred!

Yes I do have grand-children, I tell them stories of my time in the army mostly the funny things.
When I joined the army the instuctors had fought in WW2 and KOREA (We called them "THE HARD MEN")

The memories of those who fought are vivid recurring and sometimes upsetting, many try not to talk of them much. Maybe, when they are with those who shared the experience, or to impress on others that it is serious dangerous and to use the Australian vernacular BLOODY ARDUOUS...
Maybe Gollem Can supply Canadian slang Mr. Green
Most servicemen have a plethora of stories , Some bad some good lots of humorous.

Australians and Canadians fought together in Korea at the Battles of KAPYONG.-THE HOOK.- SAMICHON
They have fought together since the begining of the 20th century WW1 WW2 Korea and in many other small wars and actions, as part of the Commonwealth.

Signing off for now My greetings and salutations to your Grandfather
